Schwalbe has equipped the Marathon with the innovative ""Anti-Aging"" sidewall. The tyre will now tolerate this ""low inflation overloading"" for much longer before ugly cracks eventually start to appear.
In order to develop better resistance, Schwalbe technicians spent many hours performing harsh tests - poorly inflated tyres, loaded with weights on a rolling road, that artificially simulated unevenness over many thousand kilometres.
The Schwalbe Marathon+ Reflex Bike Tyre 29 x 1.75 is Schwalbe's best-selling model. It features superior puncture protection with the patented 5 mm thick SmartGuard layer but without compromising on rolling resistance.
Also in SmartGuard, now a portion of recycled rubber from old latex product is used.
The sidewalls now last much longer before developing unsightly cracks, when subjected to use with too low air pressure.
