This watch takes its design cues from the original ‘Alpinist,’ first launched in 1959 exclusively in the Japanese market for Japanese ‘Yama-otoko’ mountain men, to be reliable in treacherous terrain. Benefiting from over 110 years of Seiko’s watchmaking expertise, this watch is powered effortlessly by the caliber 6R35 and is a higher grade inhouse manufacture automatic movement. Mechanically beating at a frequency of 21, 600vph, it will provide superior automatic timekeeping accuracy of -15/+25 seconds per day with a 70-hour power reserve. Convenient ‘hacking’ seconds function for re-setting accurate seconds time, this movement is also hand windable and with quick date correction. Peace of mind from magnetic resistance of 4, 800 A/m (60 gauss) and with Seiko’s ‘Diashock’ shock protection system. The Green ‘sunray’ dial provides an attractive iridescent metallic character as the watch catches the light and showcases a high level of detail A date of month window is positioned at the 9 o’clock hour marker. Both the hands and the hour indexes are coated in ‘heritage’ colour ‘Lumibrite’ and add an aged & historical nature to the timepiece and to facilitate reading the dial in conditions of reduced light.
