Astron was born from Seiko’s passion for innovation. Now, under the theme of ‘Solidity,’ a series of solar timepieces have been created to lead the future of horological advancement. The dial of this timepiece features a stamped star-shaped pattern, a challenging feat for a dial with a solar cell. Rendered in light blue, it aims to capture the glow of stars in the night sky. Protected by dual-curve sapphire crystal glass, the hands and indices are coated with Lumibrite for legibility in the dark. The case is crafted from lightweight titanium with a super-hard coating, and the model includes a black ceramic bezel for enhanced scratch resistance. Powered by the 5X83 calibre, this watch boasts solar GPS functionality, allowing for precise and instantaneous time adjustments anywhere in the world. It features a chronograph function that measures elapsed time up to 1/20th of a second, displayed on the 12 o’clock sub-dial.
