This pendant lamp can actually do the splits! Dining table lamps that are height-adjustable via boring pendulum pulls were yesterday's news. Now there is Twin! This LED pendant lamp realises the mechanism of height adjustability in a very unusual way and thus combines innovative technology with sensational design. When its shades are still close together and the shiny chrome-plated aluminium struts that cross over each other rise up high, you cannot yet imagine what it is capable of. But when you start to pull gently on Twin's frame, the shades slowly move apart and the luminaire demonstrates its acrobatic skills. While its wingspan was just 50 cm, it reaches 155 cm at the end of its balancing act. Despite its considerable dimensions, Twin always inspires with elegance and lightness, which it gets from the shiny scissor mechanism as well as from the simple, translucent acrylic shades. Who doesn't know the problem when guests have announced themselves, the dining table has to assume its maximum size and the small pendant luminaire is no longer sufficient to adequately illuminate both ends of the table? Twin is a clever solution to this problem, because it easily adapts to any table size up to 3.30 metres. And, of course, Twin always fulfils the purpose of glare-free, wide-area lighting. The built-in COB LEDs radiate their light through the translucent shade surface into the surroundings and ensure a discreet but nevertheless bright and atmospheric lighting ambience. With the dimmability of its LEDs, which can be realised via a phase on or phase off dimmer, Twin then also meets the last requirement for pleasant table lighting - individual brightness control. This versatile LED pendant luminaire therefore rightly boasts one of the most prestigious design awards, the German Design Award 2015 in gold.
