Nature is an endless source of inspiration, as these Clara earrings prove. Each sterling silver stud is crafted into the shape of an ivy leaf and decorated with beautiful plique-à-jour (open to light) enamelling that holds four different colours. They look best when they catch the light (the effect is akin to vibrant stained glass), so Simon Harrison suggests wearing your hair swept back to show them off. Silver jewellery will naturally tarnish over time. Always protect this jewellery from knocks, scratches, chemicals, sunlight and heat or cold to minimise these effects. It is recommended that jewellery be removed when showering or bathing and particularly when on the beach, in the sea or in the pool. Avoid spraying perfume or applying creams directly onto the jewellery. Keep away from extreme temperatures, humidity and sunlight, and avoid wearing jewellery when using bleach. To protect jewellery, pieces should be individually placed in a pouch or within a soft lined box to stop them from getting scratched. Ideally store jewellery in a dark, cool and dry place, and try to keep pieces apart so that they don't rub together or become entangled. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to keep this silver jewellery looking bright and lustrous. A silver cleaner can also be used. Do not use tissue paper or paper towels to clean metal as they can scratch the surface of the beautiful jewellery.
