Description

This gorgeous table is engrained with character & ready to be the heart of a new home. It would make the perfect centrepiece to a farmhouse kitchen & is a substantial size - opening out into a generous dining table. It came to me having never been varnished, the wood smooth & full of character. I wanted to keep this look so gently sanded the top & have used three coats of the finest quality Danish Oil to preserve it & create a durable & water-resistant surface. It still has marks & dints but these are part of its beauty. The legs & apron I have painted using vintage chalk paint in Mousse grey, sealed with clear & dark wax to create a suitably aged finish. The legs do have some wear & although not perfect they are sound & strong. The wide cutlery drawer has its original bun handle & I have lined it with oilcloth which can easily be removed. I have paired it with a two sets of Bentwood chairs which are currently listed for sale separately. The table measures 52.5 inches/133cm long, 30.5 inches/77cm wide with both leaves down & 47 inches/119cm wide fully open. It stands 28.5 inches/73cm tall. I am based in Cheshire & you are welcome to collect in person or arrange your own courier. Alternatively I can offer you a price from a reliable & careful courier I use regularly.
