There are 2 different base options on our planters: Solid 2 thick, pressure treated wood. Semi-permeable membrane. We would suggest a membrane base for all planters, unless: Your planter is sitting on decking. The solid base will reduce the stress on the decking and preserve its lifespan. You wish to move the planter when full of soil. You wish to place the planter on feet, or you want to make it sit level on uneven ground.
