Grow what is possibly the most beautiful Aquilegia of all! This glorious Granny’s Bonnet boasts light to deep blue and white flowers measuring 2-3 inches across. Awarded an RHS Award of Garden Merit, this is an excellent border perennial that blooms for several weeks and will grow in sun or light shade. Enjoy the nodding blooms from May to July each year and use some as cut flowers for the home.Sow spring to mid-summer in a free draining seed compost just covering the seed with compost. Germination can take from 1 -3 months at 15-21C (60-70F), to speed this up seal in a polythene bag after sowing and leave in a refrigerator (3-50 for 3 weeks then place in warmth (15-21 C). Inspect regularly and remove if any start to germinate in the f ridge. Transplant when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots.
