Armeria ‘Dusseldorfer Stolz' - Low-growing Armeria ‘Dusseldorfer Stolz’, also known as Sea Thrift) forms a mat of green grassy foliage which is topped with multiple upright stems with pretty pink flower clusters. Over time it creates an attractive ground cover for a sunny position with free-draining soil, such as rock gardens or tucked in at the front of a border or retaining wall. Tolerating salty air and exposed sites, this is a particularly good choice for seaside gardens. The nectar-rich blooms attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators. Ideal For: Beds & Borders, Ground Cover, Cottage Gardens, Coastal Gardens, Wildlife Gardens. Hardiness: Hardy. Position In: Full sun. Height: Up to 20cm. Spread: Up to 30cm. Armeria ‘Dusseldorfer Stolz’ is supplied in 9cm pots. Plant Armeria in full sun on well drained soil. Sea Thrift is tolerant of poor sandy soils once established and copes well in coastal areas. On heavier soils, incorporate plenty of grit to improve drainage, prior to planting. Deadhead faded flowers to extend the flowering season throughout the summer.
