Description
Exotic and unusual, the Butterfly Pea is a tropical climber which makes an eye-catching indoor or outdoor plant! Its big blue blooms with white throats appear among the lush green foliage in summer. This quick growing, half-hardy annual is ideal for growing over an obelisk as a focal point on the patio or in the garden, on walls and fences or in the conservatory.Lightly scarify seed before sowing. Sow seed on the surface of a free-draining, damp, seed compost and cover with a layer of compost or vermiculite, 6mm (1/8in) deep. Place in a propagator or seal container in a polythene bag at a temperature of 20-25C (68-77F) until after germination which takes 14-21 days. Do not exclude light as this helps germination.Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into trays or 7.5cm (3in) pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart.Product specifications:Position: Full SunHeight: Up to 180cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 30cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1x Butterfly Pea seed packet (approx. 20 seeds)Delivered with growing and care instructionsFlowering period – July to SeptemberImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
