Description
This Chinese leaf cabbage boasts a smooth, crisp texture reminiscent of semi-heart Romaine lettuce rather than the typical cabbage appearance. It's a versatile variety with excellent resistance to tip burn and bolting. Young leaves are ready for salads and stir-fries in just 7 weeks from sowing, while autumn harvest yields 'eat all' hearts. The mild-flavoured, crisp white stalks are best enjoyed along with the leaves to minimize kitchen waste. Use them in salads, stir-fries, or experiment with homemade Korean Kimchi, a pickled cabbage recipe favoured by chefs and restaurants. Best sown directly, with 15cm spacings for 125g -200g heads and 30cm spacing for heavier heads over 500g.
