Description
Cyclamen hederifolium is an attractive small plant that bears delightful, delicate pink flowers with reflexed petals in the autumn months. Once the flowers have bloomed, the heart-shaped deep green leaves are flushed with silver to create an unusual marbled effect which is sure to add interest to any garden. Cyclamen neapolitanum makes an outstanding groundcover plant in woodland gardens and rock gardens where it will freely self-seed to create a carpet of flowers and foliage between autumn and spring. The foliage will then die back over the summer.Cyclamen hederifolium should be grown in a well-drained soil rich in organic matter that is located in either partial or dappled shade. Before planting, be sure to work some organic matter such as well-rotted manure or compost into the soil. To avoid excessive summer moisture, grow your Cyclamen neapolitanum in the dappled shade of trees and shrubs. Ensure that the rough side of the tuber with the old stems and roots protruding from it is facing up and the rounded, smoother side is facing down. The corms should be planted only 3cm (1”) deep. Allow the foliage to die back naturally in autumn as this helps to provide the tubers with food for the following year.Position: Dappled shadeHeight: up to 10cm (4”)Spread: up to 15cm (6”)Supplied as 5x size 10/11 bulbsDelivered with growing and care instructionsImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
