Description
Treat your garden or patio to these very pretty and unusual-looking Dianthus! The result of years of selection, Dianthus 'Rainbow Loveliness Improved Mixed' flowers have deeply cut petals for a soft, feathery appearance. Compact and hardy, these Dianthus will quickly form attractive clumps at the front of borders or in containers for a low maintenance patio display. The blooms of these pretty, eye-catching pinks have a strong, sweet scent that makes them a delightful cut flower for a vase in your home.Sow Dianthus seeds indoors from February to April on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag and keep at a temperature of between 18-20C (64-68F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination usually takes 14 - 30 days. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 7.5cm (3") pots and grow Dianthus plants on in cooler conditions. Gradually acclimatise pinks to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost. Plant Dianthus at a distance of 23cm (9") apart on any fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Alternatively plant Dianthus 'Rainbow Loveliness Improved Mixed' in containers on a sunny patio.Product specifications:Position: Full SunHeight: Up to 35cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 30cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1x Dianthus 'Rainbow Loveliness Improved Mixed' seed packet (approx. 30 seeds)Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
