Description
Oenothera biennis is better known as Evening Primrose. This biennial wildflower is a magnet for pollinating insects, with an upright, bushy habit and fragrant yellow, cup-shaped blooms in summer. A great choice for sunny positions on light, sandy soils, once established, plants will self-seed to create drifts of plants. A fabulous addition to wildlife areas and wildflower planting schemes, where it creates a naturalistic effect. The Kew Pollinators range of seeds from Thompson and Morgan has been specially created alongside the experts at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to attract and support a wide range of pollinators, including bees, butterflies and beetles, as well as a number of other important pollinating insects. Helping these pollinators to thrive is hugely important for our eco-system as a whole and these seeds, in their striking packaging inspired by artwork from the Kew archives, will help to create the environment which they need to thrive, with varieties chosen to help a wide range of pollinating insects, including some night flowering plants to help moths which also play an important part in our gardens.Product specifications:Position: Full Sun, Sun or Semi ShadeHeight: Up to 150cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 60cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1x Oenothera biennis Kew Pollination Collection seed packet (approx. 500 seeds)Flowering period – July to AugustImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
