It might be hard to find a flower with a more impressive stamina and beauty than that of the penstemons.The best growing conditions for penstemons require planting in a sunny or semi shaded area with fertile and well-drained soil. Penstemons can tolerate dryer soils once they are established but dislike and are damaged by heavy soils that are very cold and wet in the winter.
