Description
More commonly known as Queen Anne’s Lace, Daucus carota creates a relaxed, hazy look in borders with its upright stems and ferny foliage, which provide fabulous texture and movement. Try combining Daucus carota with late-summer perennials or wildflowers for a natural-looking style. Delicate white umbels of flowers create a beautiful frothy effect at the back of borders, attracting bees and other pollinators from June to September. After flowering, the seed heads create frosty silhouettes if left standing over winter. The blooms make excellent cut flowers for the home too.The Kew Pollinators range of seeds from Thompson and Morgan has been specially created alongside the experts at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to attract and support a wide range of pollinators, including bees, butterflies and beetles, as well as a number of other important pollinating insects. Helping these pollinators to thrive is hugely important for our eco-system as a whole and these seeds, in their striking packaging inspired by artwork from the Kew archives, will help to create the environment which they need to thrive, with varieties chosen to help a wide range of pollinating insects, including some night flowering plants to help moths which also play an important part in our gardens.Product specifications:Position: Full SunHeight: Up to 80cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 40cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1x Daucus carota seed packet (approx. 75 seeds)Delivered with growing and care instructionsFlowering period – June to SeptemberImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
