A real bonus for gardeners, Tomato ‘Oh Happy Day’ is. ‘Oh Happy Day’ F1 has superb blight resistance. Enjoy harvesting the round, slightly flatter, 150g tomatoes from July to October. Fruits grow in clusters of 3-7 and have a superb taste balance of acidity and sweetness. This cordon variety is perfect for planters in the greenhouse or on the patio and can also be planted in a sunny position in the garden. A cross between a very blight-resistant North American line and a French Marmande type, ‘Oh Happy Day’ F1 resisted blight infection for three weeks longer than ‘Mountain Magic’ in T&M’s trials.For greenhouse cultivation: sow from February to March. For outdoor cultivation: sow from March to April. Sow seeds on the surface of a good, free-draining, damp, seed sowing mix and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place seed trays in a propagator at a constant temperature of around 15-20C (59-68F) until after germination, which takes 7-14 days.
