Description
Tough enough to cope in even the poorest of soils, Wallflowers are versatile and undemanding short-lived perennial flower plants, which tend to be grown as a biennial. 'Brilliant Bedder Series Mixed' offers dwarf, sturdy, neater and compact plants for your containers, bed and borders, performing well in exposed positions. Culinary note: the tender young shoots can be cooked and eaten as a vegetable. Height and spread: 30cm.Sow in late spring/early summer outdoors in a well-prepared seed bed. Sow the seeds very thinly 1.5mm (1/16in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart. Keep the soil damp until germination takes place. Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle 15-23cm (6-9in) apart. When about 10-13cm (4-5in) tall, pinch out the growing point to make them bushier. Transplant 30cm (12in) apart into the flowering site in the autumn for flowering the following year.Product specifications:Position: Full Sun, Sun or Semi-ShadeHeight: Up to 30cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 30cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1x packet Wallflower 'Brilliant Bedder Series Mixed' (approx. 500 seeds)Flowering period: March to MayImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
