Description
A unique red vein spinach to add with salads, sandwiches and lunches! The leaves will produce the red veins as they plant matures. A low mildew resistance, providing it’s watered regularly through the dry spells to prevent bolting. Sowing time from May, June, August and September! Product Specifications: . Position in: Sun or semi shade >br>Height: 50cm . Spread: 45cm Supplied as 500 seeds Sow the spinach outdoors from May to August in sun or semi shade position with well prepared, moist soil. In earlier spring and late autumn you can sow the seeds in a cold greenhouse or under cloches. Prepare the soil by raking to a fine tilth before sowing and plant at a depth of 1cm in drills 30cm apart. Thin out seedlings to 5cm if the plant is too large to handle. For a summer and autumn supply sow every 3 to 4 weeks. Water the spinach regularly in the dry and hot seasons to prevent bolt. Thin around the rows with a hoe to prevent weeds from growing. Regular harvest will encourage more fresh and young growth, or alternatively simply pull up the whole plant once mature.
