This unique vegetable is well worth growing! Turnip 'Oasis' produces creamy-white, globe-shaped roots which have an unusual sweet and juicy flavour - it tastes similar to a melon! It can be eaten raw, on its own or added to salads, perfect for your summer and autumn dinner plates. This variety is resistant to virus. Sow seeds April through to July, at 4 weekly intervals. Sow seeds thinly, 1cm (0.5in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart. Thin seedlings when large enough to handle to 10-15cm (4-6in) apart. For best results turnips should be grown quickly, help to achieve this by watering well at all stages. Harvest when still medium size for the best flavour.
