This hugely reduces the the risk of rib injuries. The P1 uses a special internal foam which allows the protector to be thinner so as not to disrupt seat sizing and the smooth outer surface has been designed to prevent wear to race suits. The foam is Lycra lined which provides a more comfortable , abrasion free surface for the wearer. A re-designed velcro strap includes elasticated sections to enable unrestricted breathing whilst retaining the correct tightness of fit.
