The versatile nature of this piece of furniture allows it to fulfill many roles. A spare seat for those unexpected guests, a side table in the lounge or on the deck. There is ample room on the 340mm (about 13 3/8) top for two glasses, a bottle of wine, & a bowl of snacks. This piece also works well as a minimalist bedside table. There is more than enough room for a clock, a drink & a book. A magazine will fit well into the area where the legs cross over. This piece is handcrafted from solid Victorian Ash timber. Which is designed to be dual purpose, carrying & hanging. Included in the purchase price is a wall mount to hang the stool. I make these in the same species used in the stool. Please consult with an experienced installer with regards to fixing the mount to your wall. 2 top variations are available, either a fully round seat top, or, a seat top with a scolloped edge. The scolloped edge harmonizes well with the curves at the bottom of the legs when the seat is folded flat. Some say that it can be called The Boy Stool. The hinges are solid brass & are custom made to my specification. The hinges are rebated into the top as well as the legs, as is good practice. The fasteners & pivot pins are stainless steel ensuring long life & a pleasing appearance over time. This version is 615mm high. This model is a huge advancement on the design. I have been making this product for a number of years & over time the design details have evolved into the item you see for sale here. Others have made similar items through history but none have resolved the design as I have. The slick smooth action on this sturdy stool is glorious. This is more engineering than furniture making. The gentle curves at the bottom of the legs lighten the visual appearance & ensure a stable contact with the floor.
