Tom Dixon Beat Tall LED pendant light
Description
Handmade brass LED pendant lamp Beat Tall The narrow lampshade of the Beat Tall LED pendant lamp, reminiscent of an hourglass, is made of solid brass sheet. It was made by master craftsmen in India in traditional brass work. The hand-beaten inside of the shade not only creates a very beautiful lighting effect, each lamp bears the signature of the craftsman who made it and represents a unique specimen. The narrow shape and the downward radiating light make the lamp as a single piece the ideal light source above a small side table. Several luminaires mounted next to each other also illuminate a counter. The Beat project - and with it the production of the eponymous lamp series - began in 2004, when Tom Dixon was involved in an initiative in Jaipur, India, the aim of which was to give the dwindling number of craftsmen in the region a perspective. Since then, the lampshades of the Beat series are handmade in Moradabad in northern India, stewed and beaten by hand inside. This makes each piece unique. It can take up to four days until a lampshade is finished.
