Description
Porringers were widely used in the 17th & 18th century. They were bowls used for more liquid food like porridge, stew & soup. They usually had 1 handle, some virtual like this one & others horizontal. The shape of this one is based on a 17th centery slipware porringer from Staffordshire but decorated with stamps & rolled clay more like medieval pottery. Anyway, this one is Hand thrown stoneware & finished with oxides & green transparent glaze. Approximately 6.5 cm high & 16.5 cm diameter. Was 25 Sale - Breakfast Bowl Porringer
