Tsubota Pearl’s Hard Edge lighter arrived on the scene in the late 90s – and has enjoyed cult status ever since. Promising to spark joy and whatever else – be it candles or smoky habits – it’s minimally-designed in the brand’s native Tokyo, with functionality at the forefront. Think six, smooth-edged faces, a modern boxy shape and a flip cap, revealing a cotton wick. There are a range of styles and colours to choose from, but this clear, smoky black rendition - created back in 2005 - is one of the smartest and sharpest of the bunch, thanks to its geometric design.
