Description
Pushing the boundaries and thinking differently is nothing new to Vans surfers Alex Knost (from Costa Mesa, California) and Lee-Ann Curren (from Biarritz, France). Their outside-the-lines way of thinking, both on a wave and off, has come to life in a new, genderless, head-to-toe collection from Vans. Alex and Lee-Ann worked together to design a collection that not only continues to drive progression with product, but also inclusivity. Its no surprise that they chose to put their mark on our brand new Circle Vee. Vans looked at every little bit that goes into making a shoe and made adjustments-from the one-piece knitted natural upper to the all-new, sculpted for all-day comfort, EcoCush biofoam drop-in midsole and the full-length EcoWaffle rubber outsole. We even developed new construction methods to reduce glues and excess material. As part of this collection, were also partnering with the Ocean Conservancy, a global organization focused on protecting the oceans we love and enjoy, and will be donating $1 for every Circle Vee product sold, with a minimum of $25,000 donated to the Tides Foundation. Alex and Lee-Ann wanted to make a collection that everyone can enjoy and feel good wearing. Mission accomplished. Alex Knost/Lee-Ann Curren collection ECOCUSH INSOLE: The brand new EcoCush drop-in footbed is made from 70% biobased FATES foam, derived from plant-based oils without sacrificing performance. This new footbed provides ultimate all-day comfort and support with a molded heel cup and arch shape. ECOWAFFLE OUTSOLE: This is an all-new eco rubber compound made from responsibly sourced natural rubber instead of petroleum-derived synthetic rubber. This new natural rubber compound was developed and engineered to maintain the grip and durability Vans has been known for since 66. ORGANICALLY COTTON BLEND UPPERS: The Circle Vee upper knit is made of 47% organic cotton, 47% hemp, and 6% nylon, giving this forward-thinking shoe a natural, classic Vans DNA look and feel while reducing excess waste in the footwear manufacturing process. The upper is stitched directly onto the outsole to help reduce the amount of adhesive used, and all linings and laces utilize organic cotton, hemp, and jute natural fibers. Size 5.5
