Description
From our collection to yours Vans and The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles are two institutions that encourage the expression of creativity, and are committed to making creative expression accessible to everyone. This season, Vans and MOCA are proud to collaborate on a collection of footwear and apparel that celebrates creativity with California roots. Commemorating Chicana muralist Judith F. Bacas 1984 Olympics mural, in which a female runner with her arms outstretched breaks through a finish line and takes down a brick wall with her, revealing the L.A. skyline behind, the Vans x MOCA Old Skool features an allover print from Bacas mural. Commissioned for the 1984 Olympic games, Bacas mural wasnt just another piece of street art. Rather, it was designed to depict a national milestone-the first time women were allowed to compete in the games. The Vans x MOCA Old Skool is made with sturdy textile uppers. This classic sidestripe shoe also includes re-enforced toe caps, supportive padded collars, and signature rubber waffle outsoles.
