Veldskoen's all weather, all-purpose Chukka boot, is known for its exceptional all-day-on-your-feet comfort and flexible style that easily dresses up or down. Our Chukka boots are made from strong, full-grain, oily waxy leather which is sustainably and ethically sourced in South Africa. The nature of the full-grain leather, coupled with the fact that they are handmade, give each shoe is unique in colour and grain. This specific leather's waxy finish initially causes it to scuff easily. If the marks bother you, they polish out easily enough with a Spotless leather cream. However, let them settle, you will see that what starts out as marks, become traits of a deep and lasting character - proof that some things just get better and better with age. The base of the inner shoe is made from high-density memory foam that conforms to the shape of your sole giving your personalised comfort. Meanwhile the leather naturally conforms and moulds to the shape of your foot, so after a few days of wear your Veldskoen Chukka boots will feel like they are an extension of your foot. We love these unique textures and benefits and believe they are part of what gives Veldskoen their beautiful character and individuality. All our Veldskoen leathers have been given a hydrophobic treatment. This means that if you spill liquid on them, it will roll off, instead of damning up, which gives you time to wipe off the liquid before it is absorbed. Did you know leather is a natural deodorizer? Veldskoen shoes are incredibly breathable. You can even wear them without socks. All our soles are made from a durable synthetic rubber compound, which is recyclable. Our stitching is done with a semi waxed, 100% polyester, braided thread, that is as strong as the shoe itself. We use double stitching, on all high movement areas of the shoe, for added strength.
