Angelo Vergani began baking at a small pastry shop on Viale Monza, Milan, in 1944. This enterprising young man would never scrimp, always using the finest quality natural ingredients, even during those difficult times. Still following Angelo's ethos strictly to this day, the company has passed down to through the Vergani family and grown and grown in reputation. They now produce 600,000 loaves of panettone every year based on the same original recipe. Panettone now stands alongside the Duomo di Milano, Sforezesco Castle, Galeria Vittorio Emanuele II and fashion as one of the great Milanese icons, in no small part thanks to Vergani.
