60's Stunning Sherborne Sewing Box, Stool & Footstool - Dansette Legs - Vibrant Red Inner Lining - Reg'd Design 910687 44S2 - 16 x 16 x 16 A beautiful mid century sewing box stool, perfect for your haberdashery supplies. There's no better way to rest your weary feet or it makes the perfect little seat! The box is comprised a black pleather material with chesterfield style central button. A fabulous wood effect vinyl wrap surrounds the outer box & it's supported by four screw on Dansette legs with brass feet. Inside, the box lid opens to reveal a gloriously vibrant red colour. The lid is supported by a pretty brass ball chain. The inner base is lined in red vinyl & the lid is lined in a quilted style red vinyl with an elasticated gathered pocket in red fabric. This beautiful stool is in great condition for its age. There is light evident of marks to the black pleather to the front, which I haven't been able to fully remove. This is evident at the centre front & right hand side of the lid (images 6 & 7). The Dansette legs have areas of the varnish missing inside (images 2 & 9). Inside, there is what looks to be a small bleach stain to the front of the elasticated pocket. The underside of the box is covered in a black vinyl with a rippled/flock type effect. It bears the makers esteemed name; 'Sherborne', & the Registered Design No: '910687 44S2'.
