Our Fairtrade Artisan Teardop Insect Hotel provides nesting for solitary bees & shelter for other beneficial insects in your garden. Solitary bees are wonderful pollinators of fruit, veg and flowers in your garden, and as they don’t live in colonies or make honey, they are non-aggressive and safe around pets and children. The Artisan Insect Hotel is handmade and handwoven over a sturdy frame by skilled artisans from Bangladesh. Its natural design ensures they're water-resistant and provide valuable insulation for wildlife. Each insect hotel is tightly handwoven from recycled saris to the highest quality finish and is totally plastic-free. The sari availabitliy and preference of each artisan determins the colourway of each product making every piece unique. The centre contains bamboo nesting tubes that are precisely specified to attract non-swarming pollinators. It should be hung in a sheltered sunny position, preferably catching some early morning sun which will warm the emerging adult bees when they hatch out in springtime.
