The pants have a W2 laminated outer shell which features a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating to prevent water from being absorbed. The DWR is the first barrier against the weather and means that any water will bounce off the Jacket, keeping the fabric dry. Please note - DWR needs to be reapplied and can be retreated to improve its performance. Due to DWR being applied to the face of the fabric, it is easily affected by dirt and oils, which soon coat the DWR layer, hindering the performance. DWR can also be removed by regular cleaners, so DWR should always be treated with a specific product which can refresh it.The Fortitude's W2 laminated construction boasts a waterproof rating of over 10,000mm/cm2 (Hydrostatic Head), which results in superior levels of water repellence, breathability and high performance. The fabric can hold a 1cm2 column of water that is 10m tall before any water will leak through.Additionally, the pants have a breathability rating of 10,000g/m2/24h. This means that 10,000g of moisture vapor can pass through a square meter of the fabric used over a 24-hour period, and the rider would still be dry.The Pants have a removable Outlast lining. This thermal regulating fabric has been created to control body temperature, but was originally designed for NASA to protect astronauts from temperature fluctuations in space. Wolf were pioneers in applying Outlast technology to Motorcycle clothing over 15 years ago. Outlast technology utilises phase change materials that absorb, store and release heat for optimal thermal comfort. As the skin of the rider gets hot, the heat is absorbed, as it cools it is released. This means that the Pants can be worn for all-weather riding conditions. Additionally, the Pants have a breathability rating of 10,000g/m2/24h. This means that 10,000g of moisture vapor can pass through a square meter of the fabric used over a 24 hour period, and the rider would still be dry.Wolf have been able to reach a high level of protection which has not impacted the style of the Jeans or the comfort for the rider. This Jeans have reached full CE Certification to Level A, meaning that they are deemed suitable for urban riding with Zone 1 (Shoulders, Elbows, Hips and Knees) requiring one second of abrasion resistance at 265.3rpm and half a second at 147.4rpm in Zone 2 (Arms, Chest, Torso, Legs and Feet). D30 T5 EVO PRO X Armour which has been CE certified to Level 2 has been included for the Knees, and there is a pocket included for Hip Protection to be added if an upgrade is required. For further rider safety, laminated reflex piping has been embroidered into the Logos, and there is also reflective detailing in the exhaust vents and the Wolf branding.
