Description
Our blankets are handcrafted from 100% virgin Merino wool by skilled artisans in Nepal, preserving centuries-old weaving and knitting techniques. Working in small, ethical workshops, these artisans ensure that each blanket is a one-of-a-kind piece, reflecting quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, such as hand-stitched labels. Our Merino wool is sourced from small herds in rural Asia, known for its unmatched softness and natural warmth. Our plant-dyed products are colored with biodegradable, non-toxic dyes, free from harmful chemicals and synthetics. Merino wool’s natural properties make these blankets versatile, durable, and made to last - temperature-regulating, moisture-wicking, odor-resistant, and hypoallergenic. Each blanket includes a handmade dust bag backpack. Follow these washing instructions to keep your Merino wool blanket clean and in excellent condition: 1. Spot Clean If Possible: If your blanket has minor stains or spills, try spot cleaning first. Gently blot the affected area with a clean, damp cloth and a mild wool-specific detergent. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing, as this can damage the fibers. 2. Hand Wash (Recommended): For a thorough cleaning, it's best to hand wash your Merino wool blanket. Here's how: Fill a basin or sink with cold water (around 85°F or 30°C). Avoid hot water, as extreme temperatures can cause wool to shrink or lose its shape. Add a small amount of mild wool detergent to the water. Ensure it's designed for delicate wool fabrics. Submerge the blanket in the soapy water and gently agitate it. Do not wring, stretch, or twist the fabric. Allow the blanket to soak for about 10-15 minutes. Rinse the blanket thoroughly with cold water until all detergent is removed. 3. Machine Washing (If Needed): Use a gentle cycle with cold water. Use a mild wool-specific detergent. Place the blanket in a mesh laundry bag or pillowcase to protect it from friction and potential snagging. After the cycle is complete, remove the blanket promptly to prevent excessive wrinkling. 4. Avoid Aggressive Agitation: Whether hand washing or machine washing, avoid excessive agitation, squeezing, or wringing, as this can cause the wool fibers to stretch or pill. 5. Drying: Lay the wet blanket flat on a clean, dry towel, shaping it back to its original dimensions. Roll up the towel with the blanket inside and gently press to remove excess water. Do not twist or wring. Unroll the towel and transfer the blanket to a clean, dry, and flat surface, such as a drying rack or another clean towel. Allow the blanket to air dry away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Avoid hanging it, as this can cause stretching. Reshape the blanket as needed while it dries to maintain its original shape. 6. Storage: Store your clean and dry Merino wool blanket in a cool, dry place. Protect it from moths by using cedar balls or sachets and the Wooliie dust bag. Avoid hanging the blanket, as it can cause stretching. By following these washing instructions and taking proper care, your Merino wool blanket can stay soft and in excellent condition for years to come.
