Working off the theory that riding Powder is all about flotation, it, therefore, makes sense that it's the displacement of a board's volume that is key rather than length. So, by punching out the waist width and drastically chopping the length, the PowInc retains a larger board's surface area, displacing the same volume of snow for a much shorter length. A slight taper (helps keep the nose up without losing the tail's ability to hold in hard-pack. The stance is only slightly set back from the centre of the effective edge as the difference in nose and tail shovel ensures that the shape gives all the lift rather than placement of the rider's weight, making the art of riding pow feel effortless.Profile: Flat RockThe PowInc utilises YeS's powder-specific Blended Rocker profile. This innovative profile features an extended rocker zone in the nose with a set-back flat area from just forward of the front insert pack. This combination gives impressive lift at the tip while providing the board with a dynamic and poppy overall ride. The short rocker zone in the reduced length tail helps the back of the board sink in the pow while still delivering incredible drive out the end of the turn.ConstructionThe PowInc's construction is the perfect example of that old saying, sometimes less is more. Reading through the spec list, what you get is a traditional snowboard construction without any of the headline-grabbing super tech many brands flag up. However, that's not bad because YeS uses a high-quality poplar wood core wrapped with high-quality bi-ax glass fibre.
