Zipp 303 Firecrest Carbon Tubeless 650b Disc Brake Wheelset The Zipp 303 Firecrest Carbon Tubeless 650b Disc Brake Wheelset meets the needs of riders who wish to explore more. With a smaller rim, there's room for wider - 28mm or more - tyres so you can hit gravel and dirt roads with more comfort and compliance, as well as improved handling through corners. These wheels are also ideal for smaller riders that often have to make do with 700c wheels, who can now benefit from better fitting wheels on smaller frames and gain the advantages of improved handling. At the core of the wheels are German-engineered ZR1 disc brake sealed hubs that are incredibly versatile, with 66 points of engagement for almost instantaneous response. Each hub is laced to the full carbon rim by 24 Sapim CX Sprint J-bend spokes, for a strong, stiff build. The rim itself is 45mm deep, providing a good balance of aerodynamics and stability and the 25mm width has been optimised for use with wider tyres, either tube-type or tubeless thanks to the hooked design, so you can take advantage of the lower rolling resistance, improved puncture protection and increased comfort that running lower air pressures brings.
