Thompson & Morgan Amelanchier Canadensis is perfect for attracting wildlife to your garden, where birds will feast on the purple-black berries that follow on from the fading flowers in late summer. A small, deciduous tree, Amelanchier makes a fine specimen for smaller gardens with plenty of season interest. The autumn foliage colours of Amelanchier will be at their best when grown in full sun. Plant into a moist, but well-drained soil, which can be neutral to acidic. Can be grown as a free-standing specimen tree or trained as a hedge. Amelanchier are maintenance-free, and will only need pruning to keep them in good shape, or to remove any dead, diseased or dying growth.
