Flowering from mid-summer to autumn, RHS AGM variety Anemone ‘September Charm’ leaps into action to provide a fresh splash of colour to the garden just as other summer flowers may be starting to slow down. This easy-to-grow hardy perennial is wonderfully undemanding, thriving in most soils and even doing well in shaded areas. Japanese Anemones establish over time, eventually filling out their space with swathes of elegant blooms on swaying, upright stems - perfect for creating a soft, breezy, cottage-garden effect. Plant your Anemone plants out on moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade. Plants are generally unfussy and, once established, will last for years, although try to avoid excessive winter wet. Cut back anemone flowers as they fade. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of anemones in spring or autumn. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes.
