He also set up the Cousteau Society, which, since 2004 has partnered up with IWC Schaffhausen to help protect marine life and raise awareness around the benefits of ocean conservation. This 44mm IWC Aquatimer Chronograph “Edition Expedition Jacques Yves Costeau” pays tribute to the scuba diving pioneer, with a specially engraved caseback depicting him wearing his trademark woollen beanie.. Key features of the IWC Aquatimer Chronograph watch include a Safe Dive system, otherwise known as an internally rotating bezel, an uncluttered blue chronograph dial for measuring aggregate timing up to 12 hours, and a 300 meter water resistant case crafted from stainless steel. Its purist design echoes the look of the originally released Aquatimer in 1967. The push buttons located at the familiar 2 and 4 o’clock locations on the case are easy to facilitate whilst underwater, and the watch is powered by the Calibre 79320, capable of a 44 hour power reserve. Aside from luminous coated details on the dial and a sapphire crystal glass dial cover with anti glare properties, this IWC Aquatimer Chronograph “Edition Expedition Jacques Yves Costeau” is completed on a black rubber strap. This rubber band is integrated with IWC’s patented quick change system for alternating it with a robust steel bracelet..
