Description
Rare archive film and interviews with veterans tell the story of one of the greatest airborne operations of modern times. In June 1948, the Soviet Union blockaded Berlin, determined to finally drive the Allies from the city. But instead of backing down, the Americans, British and French embarked on a monumental operation to supply the besieged city entirely by air, flying huge numbers of transport planes into Berlin's airports every three minutes, while the city's lakes were used as landing sites for seaplanes.
