Awarded an RHS AGM for appearance and performance, Thompson & Morgan Sawara Cypress ‘Boulevard’ makes a magnificent specimen tree, and can also be grown as a hedge. Evergreen foliage in soft, silvery-blue sprays cloak its branches which curl gently at the tips and, during particularly cold periods, this conifer will take on colourful bronze tones. Thompson & Morgan Chamaecyparis ‘Boulevard’ will mature in a sizeable tree, but with a slow growth habit it is suitable for small gardens. Choose a position in full sun when growing Thompson & Morgan Cypress ‘Boulevard’, and plant in moist, well-drained soil. Chamaecyparis prefers a neutral or acid soil but will also tolerate chalky soils well. Cypress trees require virtually no maintenance once established. If growing as a hedge, prune at any time between late spring and early autumn, taking care not to prune into older wood.
