Description
This rear tyre features Continental's BlackChili compound, which offers the best properties of grip, speed and durability in one compound. Created by Continental technicians, this tyre's compound is continually developed by professional athletes to give riders the ultimate balance of strength and weight on race day. Another highlight of this model is its Vectran Breaker belt, which gives you exceptional puncture protection against cuts. Coming complete with Tyre Positioning System technology, this tyre's design is derived from motorsport to offer rider's superior aerodynamics and sharp handling on every ride. Technologies: BlackChili Compound: The benchmark in bicycle tyre compound technology. Combining the best properties of grip, speed and durability in one compound. Created by Continental technicians, continually developed by professional athletes. Vectran Breaker: Vectran is a synthetically manufactured high-tech fibre from a natural model. Vectran has an enormous tear resistance at a very low weight: Exactly the right properties to process into a premium Continental bicycle tyre, such as the Grand Prix 5000 as a puncture protection insert. A Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than the comparable nylon breaker. Vectran Breaker does not adversely affect the rolling resistance. TPS - Tyre Positioning System: Know-how from motorcycle sport, specially adapted for bicycle racing to address the specific demands of rear wheels. Rear: comfortable and dampening. With its slightly broader contact surface the tire provides better traction. Thanks to the compound mix being optimised for rolling resistance, stiction is reduced. The result: a pioneering front and rear wheel tyre system in which the tyres have been painstakingly matched with one another.
