Cornus kousa Teutonia is a strong growing variety with beautiful large creamy white flowers that get a pink blush to them with maturity. The autumn colour is spectacular, providing a long season of interest. Grow Cornus moist, free-draining neutral to acid soil with plenty of depth and organic matter. Choose a position in sun, sheltered by other trees. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil to improve drainage and soil fertility. Caution: Fruits are harmful if eaten, leaf hairs may irritate skin and eyes.
