Corydalis Porcelain Blue 1 Jumbo Plug Plant
Description
Enjoy an exotic splash of colour in your garden with the exquisite, azure-blue flowers of Corydalis Porcelain Blue. A real treat to grow, this generous perennial will reward you with flowers twice in a year, first blooming in spring and then again in autumn, with elegant flower clusters rising above neat, ferny bronze-coloured foliage. Unlike many Corydalis, the ferny foliage remains above ground during the growing season with no summer dormancy. Fully hardy, tough and resilient, it copes well with most growing conditions but will be happiest in a sheltered location - perfect for tucking into gaps in the border in full sun or partial shade or displaying in a sturdy pot on the patio. Pot up Corydalis plants into larger pots and grow them on in frost free conditions until they are well grown. Gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting into borders and containers. Grow Corydalis in fertile, humus-rich, well drained soil in a sunny position or in dappled shade. Improve soil conditions by adding plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost prior to planting. Water Corydalis plants regularly until they are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of chipped bark or well-rotted garden compost to the base of the plant to help retain moisture in the soil during the growing season. Overcrowded clumps of Corydalis may be divided in autumn or spring if necessary.
