Welcome to the Jungle is the theme for this original unique wall decor. It is a Handmade Decorated Horseshoe. This horseshoe is for the Animal Lover. Great gift. Great fun. Beaded Horseshoes wrapped with wire & beads, Ready to Ship. DIMENSIONS: Approx. 5 x 6 I've created this unique one of a kind horseshoes from original shoes, most well used. Then I use a grinder to take all the debris (road apples) off. This produces a clean finish. There is no paint or clear coat. The horseshoe will eventually patina. Here is some Horseshoe Lore I found online: Early horseshoes were made to hold seven nails seven is considered a lucky number. The earliest horseshoe beliefs started in Greece, where the first horseshoes were made during the fourth century BC. The Greeks of this time noted it's resemblance to the crescent moon, which was believed to be a symbol of fertility & good fortune. Horseshoes were also made of Iron, which was believed to ward off evil & weaken nature spirits. Because of this, people started hanging the horseshoe above the door so no ill-will enter the building. At one point, the horseshoe was placed in the middle of the door as a knocker. Through different eras & regions, there has been many horseshoe related lore born. While I do not hold physical talisman responsible for whatever good luck I have, Horseshoes hold much history.
