Enjoy all your favorite flowers in this decorative & functional handmade porcelain pedestal vase featuring a floral toile pattern. This vase was made on the potter's wheel out of porcelain clay. When it was leather-hard, it was trimmed & the bottom pedestal section was added by throwing on a separate piece of clay to the leather-hard vase. After it dried, the floral pattern was added with an inlay process called mishima. Once dry, different colors of underglaze were added to the pattern. There is a glossy clear (food safe) glaze on the interior & a glossy transparent glaze on the exterior that pulls the underglaze colors to create the watercolor effect. The cup was then high fired in a kiln to cone 10 (2380 degrees F). Approximate Dimensions: 7h x 4.5w x 3d All clay, glaze, & underglaze is food, microwave, & dishwasher safe.
