I have to say I was shocked. As a small little sap, I was loved & nurtured. Kent & I grew up together. All through his life I've watched him come & go. Flowers, birds, & squirrels grew under me & I glowed green in spring & summer. Come fall I did my job & followed the laws of nature making beautiful pods & I spread them freely. That was what did me in. My owners decided they didn't want to clean up after me anymore & one day I found myself laying on the ground in big chunks. Now I'm grateful that Kent is shaping me into lasting heirlooms to live on forever. Wood: Honey Locust Size: 13.75 Diameter by 4.5 tall Weight: 1lb 13 oz Finish: Linseed Oil & Beeswax All my wood turned bowls are finished with food-safe finishes. Avoid the microwave & dishwasher & do not submerge in water. Wipe clean with warm water & soap & wipe dry. Each of my one-of-a-kind turnings starts at the wood, obviously. But most important to me, every piece I turn is from reclaimed, salvaged or found wood. Taking wood that is neglected & potentially sent off to rot, decay, or worse, burn & turning it into an heirloom creation is one of the most satisfying processes I know. & now you can own the rewards of this incredible process. A live edge bowl includes bark on the top rim. Live edge rims are beautiful & dynamic. However, it is not uncommon for bark to come loose or break off. Small areas can be glued back into place or the bark can be removed completely making the bowl a natural edge bowl.
