Lger comme un Papillon - Original poster of the French National Lottery from 1956, signed by illustrator Max Dufour. The French national lottery, created by the decree of article 136 of the finance law of July 22, 1933 in order to come to the aid of war invalids, veterans & victims of agricultural disasters, was at that time the largest lottery organizer in France. She hired popular artists to do the illustrations for her advertising posters, most of them featuring humorous slogans with cultural references. The national lottery succeeds the former Royal Lottery of France, & remains relevant until its dissolution in 1976. It is the French of games, which we know today, which will succeed it.
