Famous Monster
Description
A Canadian television tribute to Forrest J. Ackerman, sci-fi and horror's greatest fan and founder of long-running fanzine 'Famous Monsters of Filmland', who died in 2008. The film focuses on the 90-year life of the inimitable editor/agent/collector, who at one time possessed the world's large collection of fantasy film memorabilia. Known as 'Uncle Forry' to his fans, Ackerman is credited with coining the term 'sci-fi', and has been cited as a major inspiration by writers and filmmakers including Stephen King, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
