Gardeners Dream Corylus Avellana 'hazel' Bare Root Hedge Hedging Tree Plants
Description
Corylus avellana is commonly known as 'Hazel' it is an extremely popular UK native hedge that displays vibrant large bright green foliage in Spring before showing off wonderful golden leaves in Autumn. Hazel has long golden yellow catkins that appear in January through to march and they are commonly known as lambs tails. Corylus can produce edible nuts and if these are required then you will need to retain some or most of the catkins to produce these nuts. The nuts fully ripen in autumn and are a perfect snack for squirrels. Corylus avellana supports over 70 species of insects as well as the dormouse (dormice), moths and squirrels.
