When they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting into their final positions. Plant gerberas outdoors in fertile, well-drained soil in sheltered, sunny borders. When growing gerbera in patio containers, use a loam-based compost such as John Innes No.2. Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size.
